Trust who?

Our children seek safety, protection, stability, joy, kindness, gentleness, and love. This is some of the food our children need in order for them to see or enjoy the sun. They cannot explain to us which one they are in need of or if we are even giving them what they truly need.

Be careful of trust, this word is thrown around so repeatedly and without the Source no one should be trusted. It’s simply to fragile when some of those things our child seem to seek are missing in their environment. What if they are not suppose to trust a parent that falls short and completely stumbles. Family that abandon intentionally and unintentionally due to unmanageable hurt, fear and pain of their own. A teacher who changes jobs because she wanted a change for her family. A government that is corrupted or in danger of corruption. An office who vows to serve and protect but instead lead by fear of the person vowed to protect. Some Ministers, judges and faith leader whose robes are stained by the sin of being human.

All these are made of human beings including us as parents who represent institutions of stability, safety, protection and so much more that are capable of error. Is the conclusion that trust should not be given to no one because it’s fragile. Love is clearly independent of trust if we can place our trust in the Source.

So my conclusion is that I should equip my kids to get understanding, sparing no expense but not placing their trust in it. It possibly gives us the ability to discern and know that we and all that surrounds us is beautiful and capable of error or failure. Therefore it gives us as a family, the ability to live, love and forgive because that is what will be needed.

The wisdom of words. Two words with meaning for the family are:

Trust –

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

““But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Discern –

“So let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭34:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
